Free-Motion Quilting Workshop

Our workshop this fall was a free motion quilting class taught by Nicholas Turcan. Oh My Gosh was it ever fun and sew informative!

Nicholas Turcan is a talented and very creative individual.  His journey into quilting began in 2012 with one quilt, which quickly turned into several. This led him to a job at The Cloth Shop on Granville Island, where his passion for fabrics, quilting and designing patterns only grew.  He has added long-arm quilting to his repertoire, helping his clients enhance their quilts with his creativity. He started teaching free-motion quilting workshops where students learn the confidence and skill in mastering their own quilting. In case Nick wasn’t busy enough, he has also launched his own pattern company, developing a very creative mystery block of the month, that comes along with a chapter from a murder mystery novel. To sign up for or find out more information about Nicholas please visit  www.mysterystitch.com

This is a class that would benefit any quilter looking to try free-motion quilting. From meandering to cobble stones to feathers and flowers, there is something for all skill levels. There was laughter, conversation and a lot of mistakes, oops I mean intentional design changes!
