It is nearly the end of July and the summer weather is finally here (at least for a bit.) It may feel a little warm for a big quilt project, but perhaps our summer challenge will spark your sew-jo. Nothing big or fancy – let’s make a Quillow (or quillo – opinion is divided on the spelling)!
These handy pillow/throw combinations make wonderful gifts and are great on outdoor furniture – a cushion by day/a throw by night – sit out and enjoy the fire or the fireflies in comfort after the sun goes down. They are easy to tuck away out of the weather and a nice quick project for the summer. Because it can be plain or fancy this could be a great project to make with a child or grandchild – a great summer memory!
Here are some instructions and a video tutorial to get you started. If this strikes your fancy and you decide to make a quillow or two, please bring along your finished projects to our September meeting on Wednesday, September 7th at the Sandman Hotel.
Happy Summer!
